Comb up his sleeve; just in case.
So, I mentioned in my app that Maora regularly switches between how she presents herself in terms of gender roles. Maora is biologically male. And she's okay with that! However, most of the time she'll dress and act like a girl. Nothing really stops her from dressing and acting like a boy; in fact, she does it several times in canon, much to the awe and confusion of her peers. I refer to Maora as 'she' because Maora spends most of her time in girl's clothes. It's not that Maora is uncomfortable as a boy! She's just slightly more comfortable as a girl. Both of these sides are part of her, and she accepts that. She identifies as both, in short. When Maora switches to boy, I'll switch pronouns accordingly. Or maybe I'll use both in the same sentence. HOW YOU LIKE THEM APPLES 8D

Maora is pretty open about her gender. She won't tell someone in introductions, but if they find out she won't hide it. For example, Haine discovered Maora's birth name is Yoshitaka, a boy's name, and when asked why, Maora replied with "That's because Maora is a boy." It won't really bother her. What does bother her is when people start to treat her differently because of it. So! If your character will know Maora is a boy, comment here. It's not so much for Maora's protection but I do know most people who meet Maora will assume she's female, and if they find out otherwise, they might be pissed off.

Another thing of note is what Maora looks like when he's dressed as a boy! Sometimes he'll look like a normal (but extremely pretty) teenage boy, but more likely he'll be dressed as a Mailman. Mailman-san looks like this (in front, although CHECK OUT HOW HOT STRAHL LOOKS THERE. WAO). Mailman-san is almost like Maora's alter ego. Her personality changes completely -- Mailman-san is quiet, reserved, but very kind and offers advice to anyone who needs it. He'll also introduce himself as the Mailman, just to make things more mysterious. Also, you know. Delivers mail. :Db It'll be even more difficult to tell that Maora is the Mailman than being able to tell that Maora is male. So! If your character will recognize Mailman-san as Maora, comment here too. Again, this isn't something Maora's ashamed of -- but it might cause confusion for other characters.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! ♥

THE SECOND MAIL POST WILL HAPPEN SOON I just have a few things left to organize. Apologies for the delay. :| In the meantime, have a meme! I wanted to do this one when it was making the rounds but didn't have the time.

Comment here with your characters' names and find out what my characters fantasize about you, if they do.

Note that for most of these they will be platonic and nonsexual (Raph being the big exception). I play Raphael, Maora, Naoto S., and Robin.

POST OFFICE

  • Jul. 28th, 2009 at 2:20 AM
Comb up his sleeve; just in case.
This is the first post involving the new Post Office, which is currently located in the North End of Camp*. As the newly-instated (and only) Mailman, Maora's decided to get back onto his old part-time job, though whether that will reap reward or despair is something only time will tell. Today, the Mailman will receive a whole bunch of letters that he will deliver around camp. Where do these letters come from? Well, about half of them will come from hammerspace, but the other half will come from you!

This post is for your character to write whatever they want to be delivered to whomever they want, as long as that person is in camp. The Mailman will deliver these letters faithfully to the person in question-- and since he's a rather nice guy, you can ask him to try and deliver letters to people outside of camp, but there's obviously no guarantee that such a thing will work. Your letters can be as long and detailed or as stupid and inane as you want. The Mailman puts his heart into all his deliveries~ Packages will also be allowed, but there will be a small fee for each one.

Fees will be applied for two things only: sending packages and sending things anonymously. Fees can be anything from having to eat a banana in front of your boy/girlfriend, to standing on your head for twelve minutes, to having a virus spontaneously come down upon you, depending on the size of your package or the severity of your anonymous message. Use your own judgement to decide what kind of effects there will be, though if you're cute the Mailman might let you off a bit. The post office takes no responsibility for the ramifications of receiving fees. ♥

To send a letter/package, please comment to this post and fill out this small form (one form per letter/package, please, and feel free to fill out as many as you want):

Sender:
Sender's residence:
Recipient:
Recipient's residence:
Circle one: letter or package
Contents: (here is where your character can write their letter or describe their package)

Basically this is just going to be a simple little event that I want you guys to go wild with. Any questions/comments can be dropped here. Have fun, and be creative~ ♥

ETA: If you don't know the residences, you can leave them blank and I can figure that out later.

* Maora is not the owner of this establishment and would not want to be; it is rather derelict in appearance and the mailboxes will sometimes spit out Harry Potter-style Howlers, among other things. She's using it as a temporary base of operations to organize the mail. However, if your character would like to use it for whatever reason-- part-timers, I'm looking at you-- then feel free to use this post for that, too.

Five quotes meme.

You've got bein' right down to an art.
Go here and choose five quotes that fit your character.

"A man can stand anything except a succession of ordinary days."
-- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

"Hell, there are no rules here-- we're trying to accomplish something."
-- Thomas A. Edison

"Mix a little foolishness with your prudence: It's good to be silly at the right moment."
-- Horace

"When you feel in your gut what you are and then dynamically pursue it - don't back down and don't give up - then you're going to mystify a lot of folks."
-- Bob Dylan

"Don't accept rides from strange men, and remember that all men are strange."
-- Robin Morgan

Sang Alleluia in the choir.
Summer blues have hit me hard, so I'm calling a tentative hiatus for Raphael, Delita, Vaan, Maora, and Naoto. I may thread here and there, but I'm going to try and take a break from RPing in general. The relationship meme will be finished eventually, but that's going to be on hold for a bit, too.

Hi~mi~tsu~~
Since Maora's been in camp for a few months now, Relationship meme! This'll mostly be centered on Maora, but you can ask for my other characters, Raphael, Delita, Vaan, and Naoto, although it should be mentioned that Naoto hasn't been in camp long enough to have made much impression, however castmates may ask for pre-intro thoughts, if you want.

Remember to list your characters, kids. ♥ Returns are appreciated, but not required.
